During 2010 the Jamaican economy and society were impacted by several global and domestic developments which influenced the out-turn of key developmental indicators.

During 2009, Jamaica was adversely impacted by the global financial and economic crisis. The economy contracted throughout the year and business activity reflected uncertainty about the form of the global economic recovery.
