The PIOJ and STATIN have presented Mapping Poverty Indicators: Consumption Based Poverty in Jamaica. The maps were created based on data gathered during the 2011 census and the 2012 Jamaica Survey of Living Conditions and carefully compiled to produce a report that can be used by development practitioners to deliver services to the Jamaican population. Data on headcount poverty, food poverty and average consumption are provided for 767 communities across the country and by parish. The report, tables and maps may be accessed on the websites of the Planning Institute of Jamaica and the Statistical Institute of Jamaica.
The maps were made possible with technical support from the World Bank.
Previous poverty maps were released in 2008.
