PIOJ CRP programme with IDB, supporting creative people and transforming Downtown Kingston
Representatives from the Planning Institute of Jamaica Community Renewal Programme (PIOJ CRP) on February 2 toured sections of the Water Lane Art Walk and office of Kingston Creative as a part of its monitoring and coordination of the US$595,000 IDB-sponsored CreaTech programme. Under the programme, Kingston Creative is providing training in digital marketing and e-commerce to creators while also educating them about intellectual property protections that are available under the Jamaican law. The PIOJ CRP is providing coordination and monitoring support for the three-year programme that started in 2021. The other partners are JAMPRO, the Tourism Enhancement Fund and HEART/NSTA Trust.

Participating in the recent tour were (left to right): Programme Director, CRP, Mr Charles Clayton; Executive Director and Founder of Kingston Creative, Mrs Andrea Dempster-Chung; Director General, PIOJ, Dr Wayne Henry; Technical Specialist, CRP, Miss Charmaine Brimm; Research Officer, CRP, Mrs Kimberley Wellington; Community Liaison Officer, Kingston Creative Miss Samantha Harvey.
Kingston Creative uses art and technology to unlock value for creatives. By integrating technology, they take a more holistic approach to connect the creative ecosystem to global markets, and add economic and social value to cultural assets.
