The Contractor is expected to prepare a detailed hydrological study of the Mason River Protected Area (MRPA), St Ann and Clarendon, particularly the fenced Reserve that encloses several water bodies and the other surface water that may be outside the protected area but impact the health of the protected area. The study should include a description of hydrological features e.g. stream flows, evapotranspiration, and erosional (sedimentation) data, as well as provide information on extreme events and climate impacts and possible forecasts in the context of climate change. Historical data should be used in the predictions. The report should also include the relevant GIS maps and shapefiles for GIS maps
Consultant to Develop a Continuity Plan for the Surface Area Observation Network of the Meteorological Service Jamaica

The objective of the consultancy is to develop a continuity plan for the MSJ-SAON consisting of AWSs. The plan will include standard operating procedures (SOP) for operations, management and safeguard of AWSs during hurricanes or other extreme weather events. The SOPs are to be aimed at preventing loss and damage within the SAON without compromising the MSJs business continuity, ensuring the agency’s ability to collect critical data during the extreme weather events.

The Contractor is expected to undertake a rapid ecological assessment of the terrestrial and riverine habitats within the boundaries of the Wagwater (including Castleton Gardens), Rio Nuevo, Rio Bueno/White River Watershed Management Units. This will include the characterization, delineation and mapping of the major terrestrial and aquatic habitat types, as well as differentiating between disturbed and undisturbed ecosystems. The Contractor will also be expected to define priority areas for and recommend possible interventions that will best achieve Integrated and Sustainable Landscape Management.
