DESCRIPTION:

The Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ) is seeking to engage a Consultancy Firm for an estimated 135 working days over seven months to enhance its Data 4 Development Online Monitoring Platform. The consultancy is slated to commence June 2024.

The Data 4 Development Online Monitoring Platform is intended to serve the public and is openly accessible to everyone at https://data4development.gov.jm/. It is geared towards supporting evidence- and results- based decision making in advancing Jamaica’s national development agenda and fulfilling the country’s commitments under global development agendas and frameworks, including the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Platform includes an integrated “Jam Data” database of social, economic, environmental and governance indicators; a Data Visualizer; a Metadata Hub; 5 Statistical Dashboards; A Vision 2030 Jamaica Monitoring Dashboard; and an Online Resource Library. It is accompanied by a “Jam Data” Mobile Application that is available in the Apple and Google Play Stores, free of cost.

The main outputs of the consultancy are an updated Database and Metadata Hub with the latest available data and metadata, aligned with global data and metadata standards; and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Platform as well as key stakeholders trained to apply the SOPs through utilising a custom-designed training manual. The consultant will also be tasked to survey the data landscape towards identifying and collating data and metadata on relevant indicators that are not already included in the database.
