Jamaica Social Protection Strategy 10th Anniversary Edition

This 10th Anniversary Edition has refreshed the context and improved the delivery and presentation of the Jamaica Social Protection Strategy in a time when social protection continues to be a dynamic contributor to national development. The Jamaica Social Protection Strategy was a pioneering work, and has been acknowledged internationally as a signal foundation document at the country level.

The Jamaica Social Protection Strategy was developed in response to the country’s commitment to ensure the security of all its residents and citizens. In doing this, it targets the attainment of agreed basic minimum standards of living and addresses the various threats to such attainment by confronting root causes, proximate causes and symptoms. This is guided by research findings and data, which indicated the main issues currently working against the attainment of these standards.
