National Transfer Accounts: the Economic Impact of Population Change in Jamaica
The changing age structure of national populations as they move through the demographic transition presents important opportunities and challenges for governments around the world. The economic implications of changing population age structures can be analysed from a number of perspectives and using various methodologies. One such methodology is National Transfer Accounts, which essentially maps resource flows across generations or age cohorts. The aim of this paper is to construct National Transfer Accounts for Jamaica for 2019 and to use these accounts to analyse the demographic dividend.
