Jamaica: National Multidimensional Poverty Index
The national MPI for Jamaica is intended to serve as a foundation for further examination and discourse in the development of policies and programmes; and inform research aimed at reducing multidimensional poverty, promoting the welfare of those in need, and ensuring that no one is left behind. It will complement the current consumption-based monetary measure as it will facilitate the monitoring and identification of different areas of deprivation faced by the poor. The MPI measures poverty across four equally weighted dimensions: Education, Health, Living Standards, and Employment.
